
Tim Kenyon, ENP brings over 40 years of experience in the telecommunications and public safety industry.
Starting right out of high school, Tim started climbing telephone poles and working in cable televsion construction and fiber optic based distribution systems. He transitioned to residential installations before making a shift into the telephone company side of the industry and quickly got involved in enterprise PBX installation and support and then into the new world of automated attendants, Interactive voice response and voice mail systems as a tech support engineer, technical writer, technical trainer, and then stumbled into the world of sales and sales engineering.
From 1993 to April 2018, Tim led Conveyant Systems, Inc., where he oversaw the development of the TeleDirectory line of attendant console applications and private labeled versions of those systems for Nortel, and the Sentry 911 suite of Enterprise 9-1-1 solutions. Under his leadership, Conveyant became a recognized provider of emergency call management systems.
In parallel, Tim served as Managing Director of First Response Innovations, LLC, the original developer of the Sentry 911 Emergency Notification solution—one of the leading enterprise 9-1-1 applications still in use today. The Sentry Solutions were later sold in 2019 to a firm comprised largely of former Conveyant employees.
After a brief tenure as Vice President of Business Development, U.S. Operations for Komutel, Inc. (2018–2020), Tim began representing multiple technology organizations worldwide, bringing specialized 9-1-1 and NG9-1-1 Core Services solutions to the U.S. market. His collaborations have included products and services from AirOne Solutions Group, Komutel Inc., Genesis Systems, Nybsys, Beta80 Group, Axxess, Bandwidth, and others—supporting initiatives in PSAP operations, LMR integration, enterprise alerting, call recording, and Kari’s Law / Ray Baum’s Act compliance.
In 2021, Tim joined Synergem Technologies as Vice President of Sales. By 2023, he transitioned to Vice President of Product Management, leveraging his technical and operational expertise to guide the evolution of Synergem’s Next Generation Core Services (NGCS) offerings. In this role, he collaborates closely with the CTO, Development, Operations, Marketing, and Finance teams to shape product strategy and advance the integration of artificial intelligence within public safety core services.
Since 2018, Tim has served on the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) National Institute Board (NIB) as the Southeastern Delegate, supporting the administration of the Emergency Number Professional (ENP) certification program. In June 2025, he was nominated and accepted the role of President-Elect of the NIB, continuing to contribute to national 9-1-1 leadership and professional development.
In addition to his board service, Tim actively participates in numerous NENA Working Groups and Committees that shape the technical standards for NG9-1-1. His contributions have included work with the:
Tim is a certified Emergency Number Professional (ENP) and holds the FEMA ICS-100/ICS-200 (Incident Command System) certifications. Early in his career, he was also a Vocational Instructor in telecommunications in California and Georgia, teaching courses in PBX and key systems, the history of telecommunications, and low-voltage electronics.
Outside of his professional work, Tim also serves as part of the security teams for major sports and entertainment venues across the Atlanta area.
